Vermeil Wines
Calistoga roots dating to 1891! Dick Vermeil’s great-grandfather came to Napa Valley in 1890 and he was born in the Calistoga home that he grew up in; a prior tenant had been Robert Louis Stevenson!
The Vermeil home had a very “Old World” feel to it where wine was enjoyed by all at the dinner table from a very young age. Vermeil and his brothers would also help their grandfather Vermeil make the family wine, further deepening his love of wine. After making a Cabernet Sauvignon as a “hobby” starting with the 1999 vintage we turned it into a business in 2008 with the formation of Vermeil Wines.
